Mothers Day is on the horizon, so what do Mothers REALLY want? The answer: A break, a happy family day out wth no tears, a clear mind, a tidy house, an interrupted bath, a day to herself. I think what Mothers REALLY want this Mothers Day is not so much the flowers, the chocolate, the cards (however nice and thoughtful they can be)… it is simply a day just for her; I mean isn’t that the reason its called Mothers Day?
Here are some ideas, if your struggling to grasp the concept, of how this could be achieved; Mama Guilt free might I add! YOU DESERVE IT, so stop telling yourself for whatever reason you do not!
Its a pretty tough road, Motherhood, but there are so many reasons why every Mama needs to know that they ARE in fact NAILING Motherhood; however much it feels like you are failing miserably.
There are days where you may feel like you are staring into a deep, black abyss and every other Mother around you seems to be keeping a swan-like grace; but trust me below the water we are all flapping our feet, crazily trying to stay afloat!
I think that however Insta-Perfect everyone, including yourself sometimes, may seem, it is OK to be vulnerable and let your troubles be known because despite them… you are doing an amazing job! Every Mama needs a little boost and so I came up with 11 of them to cheer your soul on those dark days…

When you have the energy levels of a sloth finding motivation and learning how to motivate yourself can be an immense struggle. I have myself been known recently to have waning spirits and definitely been lacking in motivation to do pretty much anything, but this week I have boosted my ethos for life and bounced back (although Im not going to write an Alan Partridge like Auto-Biography about it…) There are sometimes, I admit it, times when it is entirely necessary to have that time to relax and let life wash over you; a break is totally amazing and super refreshing every now again (which is actually one of my points below…) but if you need to wake yourself up and shake that lethargic hole you have found yourself in, these tips will really help you through.
Staying sane on days in with kids, when the weather typically gets all English and rainy on our Mom asses is a trying feat indeed. The thought of staying indoors for an entire day, getting cabin fever with a cooped up child or children that crave your constant attention and won’t let you sit for longer than 5 minutes (Im probably being generous here…), can be terrifying. I often find that my little man is much happier and high spirited on days that we go on adventures, we are both entertained and the fresh air keeps us happy; when a downpour strikes it is always best to be prepared with some handy hacks to burn the hours and to avoid slipping into the otherwise unstoppable clutches of insanity!

I mean what Mama doesn’t need nifty hacks for keeping kids healthy during the Summer months? Wether you are surviving the school holidays or troublesome toddlers, it can be tough getting through the heat, keeping children entertained whilst trying to keep them healthy and yourself not feeling drained, exhausted and in need of an entire bottle of wine every evening! My little dude loves days out and can get pretty stir crazy if we keep him inside so we try and go on outdoors adventures frequently, but this does often mean that the heat and humidity can lead to tantrums and exhaustion and I never thought we’d be able to get through them without the lure os crisps and treats; but using these super easy hacks I have managed to survive the Summer months with a healthy troublesome two toddler and had fun along the way!

Wondering wether to brave going out without the pram? It is a question I have been asking myself frequently recently (See my *Musing* on this) as we enter the stage in our little mans life where he is becoming more independent and is wanting to roam free when we are out and about. The worry however, when you have a wild child like mine, is wether or not they will stay with you; will they just bolt? Will they come back when you ask them to? Will they understand what happens if they loose you? It has been a lengthy transition and we do still use the pram at times but I have learnt a lot and can offer you some top tips to hep you go it pram free!
Although sometimes I do lust after a more carefree and possibly non-UK way of life, I am surprised and also so thankful for the places we have right on our doorstep. I like to find places to take the little dude in the surrounding areas near where we live in Hampshire that are low in cost and super fun; you can read all of my other reviews of amazing places right here on the blog too! Yesterday me and amazing fellow Mama Carly Stirling took the bambinos to The New Forest on an adventure through Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary; needless to say it was incredibly fun and exploratory for the kids and actually quite relaxing for us too!
