The age old question; How do we as parents keep our kids eating healthily? How do we encourage them to keep eating their fruit and veg? Cue the company Googly Fruit; I had used a few brands of ‘healthy eating’ pouches and packets before but I have to say I was REALLY impressed with this one.
So the Summer Holidays are in full shwing… (yes… spelling mistake intentional… if you are a Wayne’s World fan you’ll know what I’m talking about…) and as we live in England it is undoubtedly going to be full of days where the weather decides to strike out full force and leave us bound to the confines of our homes. Do not fear mama! There are some amazing products out there that can keep the kids entertained to save you from the inevitable cabin fever that is to ensue! I think a winner is always going to be apps that you can access for free on your iPad or Tablet, and Vodafone have your backs…
I mean what Mama doesn’t need nifty hacks for keeping kids healthy during the Summer months? Wether you are surviving the school holidays or troublesome toddlers, it can be tough getting through the heat, keeping children entertained whilst trying to keep them healthy and yourself not feeling drained, exhausted and in need of an entire bottle of wine every evening! My little dude loves days out and can get pretty stir crazy if we keep him inside so we try and go on outdoors adventures frequently, but this does often mean that the heat and humidity can lead to tantrums and exhaustion and I never thought we’d be able to get through them without the lure os crisps and treats; but using these super easy hacks I have managed to survive the Summer months with a healthy troublesome two toddler and had fun along the way!
Do you find yourself in a slob like state when you have told yourself to have a ‘stress free day of doing nothing’ but then feel even more tired and lethargic? Do you feel like make stress is good for keeping yourself organised and on top of your game? So every week, as my regular readers will know, I post a *Musing* that I have been pondering at the time, and where at times they might touch upon issues that are affecting our country at the time or personal struggles that I am facing myself (Last weeks saw an amazing response so thank you so much if you had a read of ‘Learning to Open Up; Letting Down Barriers’), this week I am debating a issue that I think affects everyone at some point and definitely Mothers.
Having kids means that the prospect of having a hangover and dealing with said kids whilst hungover makes you dread the actual night of drinking right?! But we NEED nights out with our friends, with our partner or with ‘the girls‘… it is necessary to let loose every now and again and have fun; if only for your sanity! We have all been there the next day though… and I’m certain children somehow know. Its like they purposefully go out of their way to make our decrepit, hungover selves feel 100% worse right?! Like a sixth sense. With my Birthday weekend approaching, and the prospect of a sever hangover by me and many of my friends, I wanted to share my wisdom on this subject to hopefully ease such days of hungover mess with children.
So its been crossing my mind recently that I really should think about getting rid of my pram (the fact that it broke also pushed things along a little!) and I’m not going to lie the thought of going to without it is super scary… but Im trying step by step to ease my (and the little dudes) way into freeing him form the restraints of his pram and setting him free into the world. I find there are pros and cons to this…
My little man loves a good book, so when I was invited to trial and review a new and upcoming app Ebookadabra, I was intrigued. It has been made my Moondog Books in partner with leading publishers like Disney, Harper Collins, Parragon and contains hundreds of books at the touch of a finger and great educational games and activities. I have tried different apps before with the little man and although initial interest was definitely there, it did fade at times. With Ebookadabra, however, as it is just a sea of books the small dude was captivated! Especially when he saw that it included his favourite characters from Disney movies such as Frozen, Finding Dory, Monsters Inc etc and stories we had read him at bedtime like ‘No Matter What’ and ‘Doing The Animal Bop’. This one is a winner.
So today ladies and gents… I am extraordinarily tired. I am tired of working from 6am every morning, I am tired from having appointments and meetings after work each day and I am tired of having no food in the house as it is the week before payday (Thankfully my man is amazing in every way and has been supplying me with chocolate and Oreo donuts to make me smile – yes they DO make those!) I don’t know about you but when I feel this deflated with the struggles and time juggling of Mum life, it comes hand in hand with feeling as though I am exhibiting terrible parenting when not having the cheerful ‘Barbie doll smile’
