The all important entity that is ‘Mama Time‘; we all know how amazing it can be for us and how much it can ease our stress filled days with a little chill out, but do we set aside time for ourselves in our busy bee schedules? If we do set aside time, are we really doing something that is totally and utterly relaxing; that can take us to a place that is far away from the stresses of our reality? Well reading is the perfect getaway, so when I was asked to review fellow blogger Deborah Stansil from My Random Musing‘s new novel ‘The Mirror’ I jumped at the chance; a perfect excuse to get lost in a good book.
My little man loves a good book, so when I was invited to trial and review a new and upcoming app Ebookadabra, I was intrigued. It has been made my Moondog Books in partner with leading publishers like Disney, Harper Collins, Parragon and contains hundreds of books at the touch of a finger and great educational games and activities. I have tried different apps before with the little man and although initial interest was definitely there, it did fade at times. With Ebookadabra, however, as it is just a sea of books the small dude was captivated! Especially when he saw that it included his favourite characters from Disney movies such as Frozen, Finding Dory, Monsters Inc etc and stories we had read him at bedtime like ‘No Matter What’ and ‘Doing The Animal Bop’. This one is a winner.
When I was asked to review the book ‘Women, Motherhood & Independence: A Guide to Financial Freedom, Confidence & Beauty after Birth’, I was immediately struck with wonder and awe at the concept behind it. It seemed perfectly in fitting with what I also hope to inspire in women through Rock and Roses Mama; that you CAN achieve success and still be an amazing Mama, it IS possible to balance YOU and your children. I was sent a little about author Penelope and felt a kinship on her mission in supporting women and mothers everywhere to succeed in their niche. When asked if I would like to Interview her also, I was even more pleased. So I am sharing Penelope’s, and my own, passions with you all in the hope it will inspire you to feel supported to go forth and achieve your dreams!
Here at Rock and Roses Mama blog I am all about Mama Time, and am determined to promote and inspire Mamas across the globe take some quality time out for themselves and their relationship. If only there was a way we could promote this concept to our bambinos so that they somehow begin to understand our parental plight! Well… look no further than The Large Family; Jill Murphy and Walker Books have served us up a treasure trove of children’s books that hilariously detail the struggles of two parent elephants trying to spend some time with themselves and each other.
So I don’t know about any of you, but my little man loves a good ol’ fashioned bedtime story; to the point at times that he demands that the same one be read at least three times before bed. I mean I have always stood by the view that a child should, without fail, be read a bedtime story; it is so important from a young age for it to be built into a solid bedtime routine to help their little brains thrive and imaginations grow. My little dude has always been a massive fan of the bedtime story and his favourites, though they shift slightly from time to time, have always been pretty solid.
