In contrast to my last pregnancy, this time around I decided to have some lasting memories of the time little lady and I have spent as one. I am big on all things nature and so, of course, had to go woodland and etherial with the style of photoshoot; I had a vision.
SO after a long blogging break I am officially pleased to say that I will be returning Rock and Roses Mama to the blogosphere! IM BACK! As some of the more avid readers of my blog will remember I had a few family and personal reasons why taking a break from something as consuming as blogging had to be done. To be honest my time is no less packed in but our little (and expanding – more on that in a bit…) family is definitely back on its feet and ready to take on the blogging world once more. This post is mainly just to say a refreshed Hello and to update you all on a few things that have been going on in our lives before I get on to the hard stuff again…
You may have noticed by the state of recent *Musing*s that the Rock and Roses Mama household has been going through a severe amount of turbulence recently; that on top of the sheer volume of work I have put upon myself in my daily life has ended in my mental state being a little awry. Something has to give.
The lovely fellow Becky over at Mommy and Rory has tagged me in her 10 Things That Make Me Happy; have a gander at her list too as its pretty good! (If you like Ryan Gosling then its well worth a peek for pure indulgence purposes!) I do love tags as its a great opportunity to spread the blogging love and sometimes a nice little raw peek into the person behind the blog! This tag in particular I am really happy to be part of as I think its essential to reflect on what makes us happy to boost our positivity and spirits!
As many of you know if you follow me on here, Twitter or Instagram I was one of the lucky ones to grab a last minute ticket to BlogOnMSI in Manchester; BlogOn is run my incredibly dedicated Laura Seaton from Tired Mummy of Two, and her clan of amazing helpers, and it is a conference that gives bloggers the opportunity to network and learn from not only fellow bloggers but brands too. I had SUCH a great time and am so impressed! Im hooked!
Ever since starting Rock and Roses Mama I have been really keep to fully submerse myself into the blogging world and I am especially interested in attending events and convention to meet fellow bloggers in person, connect with brands and learn amazing skills. After popping myself on a waiting list for tickets for BlogOn MSI I was psyched when an email popped up one day saying that I had got a ticket! In one weeks time I will be attending BlogOn MSI in Manchester and I could not be more excited!
Ive been seeing a lot of Mama bloggers posting their answers to White Camelias‘ #rockingmotherhood tag and I have actually now been tagged in by two fabulous ladies, Becki from The Mum from Brum and Emma from Emmaology, and can’t wait to share with you all why I think I am rocking Motherhood. It is so important for Mamas to know and be reminded that they are doing an amazing job, it is so easy to be hard on ourselves and feel the dreaded Mom Guilt. But we are all muddling through and doing the very best we can for our gorgeous little people.
March has been a strange month in the Rock and Roses Mama household… it has been an absolute rollercoaster thats for sure! There have been some seriously amazing moments for my little blog, some crazy happy events for our family (Ummm… like we got MARRIED! EEEEK!) and then there have been some disastrous days that have shaken us to our core and proven to us what an amazing, loving and strong family network we have around us. Im not going to lie I don’t like talking about the negative parts of the last few weeks but in time I’m sure I will write about it and share my experience with you all on day… but it is just far too raw currently for me to even know where to begin! So we shall focus on the good… and the uplifting.
The all important entity that is ‘Mama Time‘; we all know how amazing it can be for us and how much it can ease our stress filled days with a little chill out, but do we set aside time for ourselves in our busy bee schedules? If we do set aside time, are we really doing something that is totally and utterly relaxing; that can take us to a place that is far away from the stresses of our reality? Well reading is the perfect getaway, so when I was asked to review fellow blogger Deborah Stansil from My Random Musing‘s new novel ‘The Mirror’ I jumped at the chance; a perfect excuse to get lost in a good book.
I am super excited to announce that the amazing Mom Of Two Little Girls has nominated me, after being duly nominated herself, alongside some gorgeous Mother bloggers. I thought I’d read it wrong when I saw it but no no… here I am writing about how humbled I am and that in my meagre 5th month of blogging it is super exciting to be gradually noticed by the awesomeness that is the blogosphere! SO… to pay it forward and keep the ball rolling… Im nominating another 15 rockin’ bloggers that deserve some recognition too.
So lets just be honest here… unless you gave birth, became filled with baby, got engaged or married, been offered your dream job or anything of that joyful ilk… 2016 has been a pretty abysmal year for us all here in the UK hasn’t it? I mean Brexit… come on guys! What were you all thinking! Actually… for those who reside in the good ol’ US of A it has been even worse, at least we don’t have a clueless, fame seekingly obnoxious, orange clown leading our country down a dark, dark path of madness. The celebrity deaths and political insanity have meant that this year has been pretty rubbish to say the least. Only one good thing has come of this year, which has led to many good things…
So its now precisely 5 days until the big C word and I for one am pretty psyched. Anyone with me on that one? I know its a stressful time of year for parents, and I don’t even get anytime off work (yup… working right up until 7 Christmas Eve…waaaaa) but the festive sprint had caught me and I cannot wait for my first ever Christmas at home with my little family. Normally we cart the small man around to various relatives houses but this year… this year… we have taken a stand and are doing Christmas for ourselves! Let the festivities commence! I have been tagged in the bloggers Christmas Tag by One Clueless Mama (head over to check out her answers!) so will now share with you my likes and dislikes of Christmas…
