Spending lots of time on your phone as a parent seems like the total norm these days, and I certainly, being a Motherhood blogger and influencer am extremely guilty of that nearly all of the time to be honest! A new picture book for children, #BabyLove: My Toddler Life by Corine Dehghanpisheh explores the simple message that we should all try and encourage in our parenting lives; put down the phone. Corine has also been generous enough to offer one of my readers the chance to win a copy of this spanking new book in another Rock and Roses Mama Giveaway!
It is a topic that me and my husband have discussed a lot of late and I do really strongly feel that todays society places FAR too much emphasis one social media channels and scrolling through various feeds on their phones.
Rare are the moments of pure joy when you are totally and utterly ‘present’ with your child.
Now I know that it is hard to let go of the daily documentation… especially if you are trying to pursue a career online like Rock and Roses Mama.
I think there is obviously a clear difference between pursuing and promoting a career and inspiring and helping others and just simply scrolling through endless nonsense on a newsfeed just to fill an unwanted gap of time.
That gap of time could mean everything to your child.
Get on the floor and play with them!
Carine’s picture book is and a gentle reminder to do just this, and also explores the opportunity for us to highlight the importance of presence and attention to our children… WITh our children.
It follows the story of a child who reaches for the mothers phone as an imitation of her and the mother uses it as an opportunity to talk to the child about how the most important things in life are moments spent together.
It is the second book in the series, the first being #BabyLove: My Social Life.
I am really pleased to be able to offer on of you with the chance of getting your hands on a copy of #BabyLove:My Toddler Life for free; To enter follow the following link! Good Luck!
