We love a family day out in the Rock and Roses Mama household and after receiving a years membership to The National Trust we made it our mission to go on lots of adventures with our orange passes onto the wild! The summer months (I realise we in May and technically it should really be sunny right about now but the sunshine has not so much had ones hat on recently!) will make for much better experiences as most places are outdoors, but we thought we would give Hindhead Commons and The Devils Punch Bowl a shot in the questionable weather; and we loved it!
The grounds are HUGE and we didn’t get to explore everything we intended to as, predictably, the heavens opened and we had to head back to the car! We did manage to walk round the Devils Punch Bowl and it was immense!
The sights were breathtaking! I’m not sure the little man was really paying attention to the landscape… but we loved it; he was more taken with the fallen trees around as the provided a nice natural climbing frame!
I fell in love with the gorgeous wild flowers too!
So until next time National Trust… we bid you farewell! We might even come back here to check out the other paths and routed through the Commons…
If you are interested in National Trust and English Heritage sites I post about every visit here!
